I was diagnose with Breast Cancer June this year, my mom took care of me after my massectomy. One morning we were getting ready to go to the doctor, and mom made a remark after discussing a mussel she had torn
” my doctor said it will grow back” so I replied by saying ” Mom your lucky, my Doctor said mine will never grow back” this made us smile and mom appreciated my sense of humor for my situation.
Keep it up with humor ladies!
Dear Christa, thank you so much for sharing that.
I joined the Sports Science Gym after my first bout of chemo. I was determined to keep fit. I had had my mastectomy and was running on the treadmill when my prosthesis bounced out of my bra and slithered down inside my leotard and it starting bouncing around my pubic area. I can just remember my mother pointing and going hysterical staying your boob has shifted. Well we laughed ourselves silly as I went in search of the prosthesis.
Well said “Flat of chest but not of spirit”,we need to beable to laugh in the midst of all the trauma ; it assists us in healing …….. Let get more funny stories or words for this section!!!Come on survivors make a contribution PLEASE

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in September last year, which brought with it surgery and chemo. I found that some people, particularly those I didn’t know very well, were often nervous about asking me how I was doing (perhaps in case I burst into tears or gave them “too much information”) so I’d say, “Flat of chest but not of spirit”, which always brought a smile and broke the ice. That maxim also gave me something to hold on to when things were tough.
